The agricultural sector is the sector that absorbs the most labor in Indonesia. Sakernas Survey Results February 2017 labor absorbed by the agricultural sector by 31, 86 percent. This reflects that the agricultural sector is still the foundation of the Indonesian population. Therefore an indicator is needed to measure the purchasing power of farmers as one of the main actors in the agricultural sector.
Indicators of farmers 'purchasing power in rural areas can be measured by Farmers' Farmer Value (NTP) approach. NTP is the ratio of agricultural commodity price index produced by farmers to the price index of goods / services paid by farmers for household consumption and production costs. The basic ingredients in NTP calculation are weigh diagrams and commodity packages obtained from the Comparison of Weighted Diagrammatic Completion (SPDT) Survey.
The latest NTP SPDT result of 2012, this data is estimated to be incompatible with the current condition that has undergone many changes. For that year 2017 BPS conducts SPDT NTP back to produce commodity packages and the latest weighing diagram in NTP index calculation ie Price Index received by farmers and Price Index paid by Lb by farmers. SPDT NTP 2017 is implemented in rural areas.
Implementation activities in October 2017, covering all subsectors in the agricultural sector with household respondents crop farming, Horticulture, smallholder plantations, livestock, fisheries and forestry.
Survey Officer before collecting data has been trained to get the material related to concept definition, methodology and activity SOP, so all officers have understood all the survey material at the time of data collection.
