Deli Serdang, September 12, 2024 — The launch of the Statistics Love Village (Beautiful Village) in Deli Serdang Regency in 2024 was held at the Palapa Multipurpose Building, Pasar V Kebun Kelapa Village and covered two villages, namely Pasar V Kebun Kelapa Village, Beringin District, and Denai Lama Village, Pantai Labu District. This launch was officially opened by the Regent's Expert Staff for Government, Law, and Politics, M. Ari Mulyawan Simatupang, SH., MAP.
The Head of BPS Deli Serdang, Herman, S.E., M.Si., in his remarks emphasized the importance of implementing Beautiful Village as an effort to foster statistics to improve the competence of village officials in data management and utilization. This is expected to help plan village development that is more targeted, so that improving community welfare can be achieved better.
This activity was also attended by the Head of Research and Development, Vini Dwi Putranti; Head of Statistics at the Communication and Information Service, Edi Jamian Nasution, SE; Head of Community and Village Empowerment, Anita M. Situmorang; Head of Beringin Sub-district, M. Dhani, M.Si; and representatives from Pantai Labu Sub-district represented by the Sub-district Secretary, Azizur Rahman SSTP. In addition, village heads throughout Beringin and Pantai Labu Sub-districts also attended the event.
Improving the quality and capability of human resources in village government in terms of data management and literacy remains a priority. The Beautiful Village Program is a real step in accelerating sectoral statistical development that focuses on villages.
The Beautiful Village Development aims to increase literacy, awareness, and the active role of village officials and the community in organizing statistical activities, as well as standardizing statistical data management to maintain the quality and comparability of statistical indicators. In addition, this program also optimizes the use of statistical data so that village development programs are right on target.
The development of Beautiful Villages is in line with the mandate of the Statistics Law Number 16 of 1997, in which BPS is responsible for developing the implementation of statistical activities, and in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 concerning One Data Indonesia. In this context, BPS plays a role as the Supervisor of Statistical Data in the implementation of One Data Village Indonesia (SDDI). SDDI aims to carry out sectoral statistical development at the district/city level to meet the needs of village data in a top-down manner in accordance with the One Data Indonesia Principle.
