Lubuk Pakam, September 4, 2024 – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Deli Serdang Regency held the opening of the Training for Prospective National Socio-Economic Survey Officers, Socio-Cultural and Education Module (SUSENAS MSBP) and Quarterly Household Economic Survey Integration (SERUTI) September 2024. This activity was held at the Wing Hotel Kualanamu, Deli Serdang, and was attended by the Head of BPS of Deli Serdang Regency, Herman, S.E., M.Sc., who gave a speech and direction to the prospective officers.
In his speech, the Head of BPS Deli Serdang emphasized the importance of the role of data generated from this survey in supporting national development. "The National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) is the mainstay in meeting the government's needs to carry out national development in accordance with the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and international development goals such as the SDGs," he said.
In his direction, the Head of BPS Deli Serdang also emphasized the importance of the data collected in this survey, because the data is very useful for the government, especially Ministries, Institutions, and Regional Governments (KLDI), in formulating data-based policies.
He also motivated the officers to stay enthusiastic and maintain their appearance in the field. "Stay positive. No matter how hard the work is, if it is done sincerely, everything will feel much easier," he added.
Data quality must be maintained, and one way to maintain this quality is through training these officers. This training aims to produce officers who understand the concepts and definitions of SUSENAS MSBP and SERUTI, and are able to carry out data collection in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) in the implementation of SUSENAS MSBP and SERUTI September 2024.
The Head of BPS Deli Serdang, Herman, S.E., M.Sc., also emphasized that data quality is highly dependent on the data collection process in the field. "I hope this training can provide the same perception to prospective officers in understanding the concept, definition and field management of SUSENAS MSBP and SERUTI September 2024 data collection, so that they can carry out their duties properly and correctly," he said.
This training is also expected to produce officers who understand the concept and definition of SUSENAS MSBP and SERUTI, and are able to collect data in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP). The Head of BPS also reminded the importance of collaboration between BPS and various related parties, from the central to village levels, to maintain the quality of the data produced.
At the end of his remarks, the Head of BPS Deli Serdang expressed his gratitude to all the committees who had prepared this event well. He hopes that this training can run smoothly and provide optimal results to support national development based on data.
This activity is important for BPS Deli Serdang Regency in ensuring that the data produced from the surveys carried out will support future development planning and policies.
