On Thursday, July 18 2024, the Head of the Deli Serdang Regency Central Statistics Agency, Herman, S.E., M.Sc., gave directions to the August 2024 National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) officer training offline or outside the network in the d'primahotel ballroom.
In general, the aim of collecting the August 2024 Sakernas data is to provide basic sustainable employment data. In particular, the August 2024 Sakernas aims to obtain data estimates on the number of employed people, the number of unemployed, and other employment indicators, as well as representative developments at the national, provincial and district/city levels.
Sakernas collects information from each sample household regarding the general condition of each household member (name, relationship to head of household, gender, nationality, place of birth, month and year of birth, age and serial number of biological mother). For household members aged 5 years and over, information was collected on Population Identification Number (NIK), marital status, school participation, education and training, residence in the past 5 years, disability, technology, information and communication (ICT) variables, activities work in the last week, main job, additional work, job search activities/preparing a new business, work experience both at home and abroad, as well as the Pre-Employment Card Program for those aged 18 years and over.
Sakernas is held twice a year, namely in February and August. The scope of implementation of Sakernas August 2024 is in 38 provinces and 514 districts/cities in the Republic of Indonesia. The sample size for the August 2024 Sakernas is 30,788 Census Blocks (BS) or around 307,880 households and for Deli Serdang Regency there are 80 target Census Blocks with a sample size of around 800 households.
The August 2024 Sakernas data collection activity was carried out using portable devices (tablets/smartphones/devices) owned by officers or what is known as the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) method. This data collection method using CAPI allows officers to conduct interviews without carrying a number of physical documents, but data confidentiality is maintained. With the CAPI method, officers can also send data immediately after data collection is complete, so that data can be obtained in near real time and monitoring can be carried out via the FASIH dashboard. It is hoped that officers will be able to immediately adapt to the method of using gadgets in interviews/data collection, both in terms of interview ethics and the process of extracting household information in the implementation of updating and enumerating Sakernas samples in August 2024.
The employment concept used in the implementation of Sakernas August 2024 is based on the 13th International Conference of Labor Statisticians (ICLS) and ICLS-19. Apart from that, the August 2024 Sakernas also implemented the employment concept based on the International Labor Organization (ILO) Labor Force Survey (LFS) questionnaire module.
