Abstract

• Number of foreign tourists (tourists) who visit at
Sumatera Utara through 3 (three) entrances in October
2017 reached 21,749 visits, an increase of 7.67 percent
compared to those coming in September 2017 reaching 20,200
visit. But when compared with the same month of the year
2016, the number of foreign tourists in October 2017 experienced
a decrease of 7.16 percent, from 23,426 visits in October
2016 to 21,749 visits.
• Period from January to October 2017, the number of foreign tourists visiting
Sumatera Utara increased by 15.43 percent compared
the same period in 2016, ie from 181,043 visits a year
2016 to 208,986 visits in 2017.
• In October 2017, foreign tourists from Malaysia are visitors
the most with 10,466 visits or 48.12 percent of
total foreign tourists visiting in North Sumatra.
• Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in Sumatera Utara
in October 2017 reached an average of 47.24 percent, or up
4.79 points compared to September 2017 of 42.45 percent.
• Average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at the hotel
starred in October 2017 reached 2.51 days, up 0.88 points
compared to September 2017.
• The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra
through Kualanamu International Airport during October
2017 reached 310.246 people, up 1.49 percent over the month
September 2017 which reached 305,698 people.
• The number of passengers on inter-island sea transport (domestic)
departed in October 2017 recorded as many as 2284 people,
down 39.97 percent over the previous month of 3,805
person.
