Manufacturing sector is the biggest contributor of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in 2017. Contribution of manufacturing industry by 20.16 percent. In addition, based on the Directorate General of Taxes report, the realization of tax revenue until the third quarter of 2017 manufacturing industry accounts for about 31 percent of state revenues.

Given the importance of the manufacturing sector from the data, the policy on the manufacturing industry is certainly one of the policies adopted by the government at this time. This is also in harmony with government policies that guide development to focus on inclusive development. That is, the distribution of industrial development and industrial estate is done by building appropriate natural resources potential of each region.

The policies adopted in industrial and industrial estate development must, of course, be based on accurate data. To that end, the Central Bureau of Statistics conducted a survey called the Micro Industry Survey and small 2018 Annual. This survey aims to find out the profile of Micro and Small Industries of potency areas in Indonesia that can be used as material for planning macro economic activity.

The Central Bureau of Statistics also conducts training for enumerators before being deployed to the field. This is done in order to understand the concepts and the definition of the national instructor level to the enumerator officer. In addition, enumerator officers are also equipped with the science to face repsonden and later challenges in the field.
