NATIONAL STATISTICS DAY 2017 "WORKING TOGETHER WITH DATA"

National Statistics Day (HSN) is commemorated every September 26th. HSN is not the birthday of BPS, but the day of the enactment of Law No.7 / 1960 on Statistics, so that HSN is not only owned by BPS but belongs to the entire nation of Indonesia. The theme of this year's HSN anniversary is "Collaboration with Data" which is a call for all elements of the nation to work together, build Indonesia, with reference to the statistics as its foundation.
The HSN 2017 anniversary at the Deli Serdang District BPS is conducted in conjunction with BPS Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai and BPS Kota Tebing Tinggi. The series of events begins with National Statistics Day commemoration ceremonies. At the ceremony read the welcome speech from the head of BPS RI, where at one point is the independence of BPS. "Therefore, I invite all levels of Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) both at central and regional levels to continue to maintain the independence of BPS at any time, under any heavy pressure, and make BPS as a respected institution, an institution that can not be intervened. Remember, a position is not everything. How we will account for our position before the Creator is the most important. I emphasize again, BPS data is not to please certain parties. BPS data should accurately capture facts in the field in an objective and accurate manner with standardized methodologies and in accordance with international standards. Our task now is to educate stakeholders to realize that when the numbers do not match expectations, they are warnings for immediate repair. "
A series of ceremonies is given to employees whose tenure has reached 10, 20 and 30 years. Rewards are also awarded to outstanding employees in order to reward performance and motivate to be even better.
